The 1988 vintage of this wine was ranked #7 on the Wine Spectator's Top 10 Wines of 1991!

"What a beautiful and complete wine, with dark chocolate, crushed blackberry, cedar and raspberry on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a beautiful licorice, tar and fruit aftertaste. Long and complex. Will improve with age, but delicious now." (Wine Spectator)

Winemaker's Notes:

The wine shows deep color with substantial but supple tannin. It is long on the palate, while the aromas are still hidden due to the youth of the wine. At this stage of evolution it seems the vintage is not comparable to any other ones but 1966.
