“This quinta rises above the north bank of the Douro, downstream from Pinhao. It grew a lovely 2013, more complex and layered than many LBVs, sophisticated in its blueberry and plum richness and schist-driven tannins. Those dry tannins give it an old-school feel, structured and firm. This will benefit from a few years of age, and the company of Stilton.”
